September Post!

I feel like I’m going to look back at this post and wish that my writing was better, but I did promise that I would write one post a month, so here I am! I’m currently in my first year of my GPD at Peabody, and have gotten to meet some of the new faces in and outside of my studio. I feel like my biggest struggle will be making sure I use my time effectively, since I don’t have as many classes to take for this program as a Master’s Degree.

One thing that I’ve done to let my playing be heard by more of my peers is to invite them to hang out, play board games, and also share excerpts. If you’re in school, being able to pair playing music for someone with a fun activity makes the prospect of asking people to hear you play less intimidating.

The biggest news that I have to announce is that I will be part of an orchestra tour that takes place during the winter, and goes on a tour throughout China! It’s part of FOOSA, a summer academy in Fresno that I had been to in the past, and is now going on their first international tour. This will be my third time going to China in my life, and it’s interesting how they’ve all been equally spaced out. My first time was in 2003, when I turned 8 and went with my mom and sister. The second time was in 2011, when I turned 16 and went with my classmates. I will be turning 24 this year, and it makes me wonder whether I’ll be headed back in 2027, when I turn 32. Anyways, that’s it for this post, and I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Updates on Everything!

Hello! I would like to mention everything that has happened in the past two years, and what I hope to achieve with this website going forward.

So I began this website as part of an assignment for a class of mine during my Masters degree at Peabody. Since then I have received said Masters degree and am now pursuing a Graduate Performance Diploma at Peabody. I have also attended several festivals including Domaine Forget and Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. I will upload links to recordings and videos of concerts I have done since then, and plan to update this blog once a month. I hope you enjoy all there is to offer in regards to this website, and to contact me if you have any questions regarding anything.
